Father, rest assured that we in the youth commission and the rest of the young you served before and still, will always pray for you..and also will be there to listen and sharing ideas... God Has Answer for Ongoing Violence, Says Pope

Affirms That Crucified Christ Is Promise of Hope

VATICAN CITY, JULY 5, 2009 (Zenit.org)

Ever since murder marked the very first human family, people have continued to kill one another, but God's answer to this is the blood of his Son, Benedict XVI says.

As he addressed crowds gathered in St. Peter's Square today to pray the midday Angelus, the Pope reflected on the phenomenon of brother raising his hand against brother. The occasion for this reflection is the tradition of using the first Sunday of July for devotion to the Precious Blood of Christ.

The Holy Father noted how his predecessor Blessed John XXIII confirmed this tradition with a 1960 apostolic letter.

"The theme of blood linked to that of the Paschal Lamb is of primary importance in sacred Scripture," Benedict XVI explained. "In the Old Testament the sprinkling of the blood of sacrificed animals represented and established the covenant between God and the people, as one reads in the Book of Exodus. [...]
"Jesus explicitly repeats this formula at the Last Supper. [...] And, from the scourging, to the piercing of his side after his death on the cross, Christ has really shed all of his blood as the true Lamb immolated for universal redemption."

The shedding of blood is also a theme that runs throughout history, the Pope continued.

The blood of Abel, slain by his brother, cried out to God from the earth. "And, unfortunately, today as yesterday, this cry does not cease, since human blood continues to run because of violence, injustice and hatred," he lamented. "When will men learn that life is sacred and belongs to God alone? When will men understand that we are all brothers?"

However, the Holy Father recalled, "To the cry of the blood that goes up from many parts of the earth, God answers with the blood of his Son, who gave his life for us. Christ did not answer evil with evil, but with good, with his infinite love. The blood of Christ is the pledge of the faithful love of God for humanity."

This truth can be a comfort for all people, regardless of their personal situations, the Pontiff contended.

"Looking upon the wounds of the Crucified, every man, even in conditions of extreme moral misery, can say: God has not abandoned me, he loves me, he gave his life for me -- and in this way rediscover hope," the Bishop of Rome affirmed.

And he concluded with a prayer to Christ's mother: "May the Virgin Mary, who beneath the cross, together with the apostle John, witnessed the testament of Jesus' blood, help us to rediscover the inestimable riches of this grace, and to feel profound and perennial gratitude for it."

“Kembali Kepada Asas”

“Belia –IPT Masuk Kampung, lawaklah ini program, bukankah mereka juga urang kampung”. Merupakan antara komen yang diberikan oleh sesetengah masyarakat. Pada 16 -26 Jun 2009 yang lalu Program Belia-IPT Masuk Kampung telah diadakan di KSFX, ramai umat yang tidak memahami mengapa “orang kampung” dihantar masuk ke kampung. Menurut lapan orang peserta BMK tahun ini, yang terdiri daripada 3 peserta perempuan dan 5 lelaki. Program kali ini benar-benar menyedarkan mereka akan “diri mereka sebagai orang kampung”.

Keadaan setiap kampung adalah berbeza dari segi sosio-budaya, politik, ekonomi dan demografik. Perbezaan ini lah yang menjadikan pengalaman setiap peserta ini sangat berharga, bukan sahaja mendapat keluarga angkat namun mengenali dan memahami erti kehidupan seterusnya bersyukur akan keberadaan diri sendiri.

Kenyataan hidup para graduan pada masa kini banyak telah berubah, terdapat segelintir atau pun ramai yang telah mula melupakan asal-usul sendiri, malahan ada yang tidak sanggup untuk pulang ke kampung asal kerana keadaan yang di anggap tidak sesuai dengan status mereka kini. Tambah menyedihkan ramai yang telah melupakan nilai ”hidup dalam kesederhanaan” ramai graduan telah mula terikat dengan kebangaan hidup materialistik. Melalui program BMK, para peserta bukan sahaja diberikan tugas untuk dilaksanakan di kampung dilawati tetapi belajar untuk lebih mencintai diri, asal-usul dan keindahan hidup dalam kesederhanaan. ”Cara hidup yang sederhana ini, mengingatkan saya agar saya tetap menerima perjalanan hidup saya dan melaluinya dengan penuh rasa syukur” demikianlah perkongsian Sdra. Roney Eming, yang merupakan salah seorang peserta BMK kali ini.

Program BMK yang dimulakan kembali di Diosis Keningau ini sememangnya merupakan stau program yang dinanti-nantikan oleh masyarakat jauh di kawasan pedalaman. Ini kerana mereka melihat program ini mampu menyuntik semangat rohani dan perjuangan kepada para masyarakat, terutama nya para belia dan kanak-kanak dalam memperolehi kejayaan. Bagi masyarakat yang dilawati, ianya merupakan satu rahmat cinta kasih Tuhan kepada mereka. Dengan perkongisan pengetahuan samaada rohani, akademik atau sukan rekreasi ianya telah memperlihatkan mereka bahawa Gereja juga prihatin dan mengutamakan pembangunan secara penuh di tempat mereka. ”Semoga tahun hadapan lebih ramai belia IPT yang mahu mengikuti program ini” merupakan sebahagian harapan penduduk kampung di Kg. Pemuntarian dan Kg Lanas yang telah dilawati selama 4 hari. Terima kasih kepada lapan orang belia IPT yang mahu diutus menjadi diplomat kecil Diosis Keningau.

Lapan peserta Belia IPT Masuk Kampung, Rekod 2009. Biarlah kita bermula sekali lagi, dari komuniti kecil.

Pada awal mula hanya 3 orang saja iaitu, Mr. Adrian, Miss, Ervina dan Mr. Lexann... ada yang terkejut apa!!! 3 orang, pertanyaan mengapa ini berlaku...??? Sebagai support team Miss. Sherry dan Mr. Bodrick mengatakan, oklah..kami akan menjadi support team dan juga peserta. Akhirnya dengan tambahan Miss. Lc, Mr. Peter dan Mr. Roney menjadikan angka penyertaan 8 orang.

Penyertaan yang kurang pada kali ini tidak menjadi halangan untuk aktiviti ini dijalankan, 8 orang peserta ini banyak menerima input berkenaan dengan tema pastoral yang dilihat melalui mata rohani oleh Cik. Beatrice Nemisius dan pengenalan akan doktrin dan dogma gereja oleh Sdra. Wilfred James.

Bermula 20 Jun 2009 yang lepas, mereka telah memulakan program bakti sosial mereka di Kawasan Lanas dan Pemuntarian. 4 orang Adrian, Ervina, LC dan Lexann di hantar ke Lanas dan 4 orang lagi di hantar ke Pemuntarian. Pada 24 Jun mereka akan kembali ke KSFX. Kami menantikan cerita dan pengalaman iman mereka di sana.

Program Pembentukkan Belia

Pembentukkan belia yang berterusan adalah sesuatu yang amat penting bagi memastikan perkembangan Gereja yang menyeluruh dan menjamin masa depan gereja yang cerah, itu merupakan antara intipati homili yang disampaikan oleh Bishop Cornelius Piong ketika merayakan misa penutupan, Program Pembentukkan Belia, pada 08 Jun 2009 yang lalu.

Program pembentukkan anjuran Komisi Kerasulan Belia Katolik Keuskupan Keningau ini mengambil masa selama 10 hari, bermula 31 Mei hingga 9 Jun 2009 dan telah disertai oleh seramai 37 orang peserta yang terdiri daripada pengerusi-pengerusi, AJK tertinggi atau ahli dari setiap Kerasulan Belia Paroki, Zon dan KUK naungan Keuskupan Keningau.

Latihan secara pratikal dan teoritikal merupakan konsep program ini, dan selama 10 hari para peserta hidup dalam komuniti dan bertanggungjawab dalam pengurusan rumah. Hidup dalam komuniti telah mengajar para peserta untuk lebih bertanggungjawab dan menghormati perbezaan antara satu dengan yang lain, di samping membentuk personality dan semangat berkerja sebagai satu pasukan. Dan antara subjek yang diajarkan sepanjang program ini ialah “Community Buliding”, Perkembangan Diri, Psikologi dan Seksualiti, Kepimpinan, “Facilitation”, Sosio-Budaya dan “Discipleship.

“Program ini benar-benar telah membantu saya untuk melihat dunia pelayanan belia melalui satu sudut yang baru, dan membantu saya untuk lebih berani dan yakin dalam memainkan peranan saya sebagai ketua belia di KUK kami”. “Sememangnya program ini merupakan program yang dapat membantu saya menilai kembali pelayanan dan menghidupkan lagi semangat pelayanan dalam Kerasulan Belia”. “Apa yang menarik bagi saya dalam program ini ialah konsep hidup dalam komuniti, ianya sesuatu yang amat baik bagi kami belia untuk lebih mengenali antara satu dengan yang lain dan agar kami dapat berjalan bersama sebagai satu team di Diosis ini.” “Saya amat bersyukur kerana banyak perkara baru dapat saya pelajari dan saya menyokong penuh program ini dijadikan program tahunan atau berkala bagi pembentukkan belia yang berterusan.” Inilah merupakan antara simpulan komen dari para peserta program ini.

Program ini di bentuk dan dijalankan adalah atas keprihatinan Bapa Uskup Cornelius, yang melihat keperluan medium pembentukkan bagi melahirkan pemimpin (Belia) gereja dan awam yang dikuasai oleh nilai-nilai dan budaya Kristian. Memainkan peranan sebagai badan bertindak untuk membentuk pemimpin belia, Komisi Belia Keuskupan Keningau telah merangka dan menjalankan program pembentukkan belia ini. Menurut Kordinator Belia Keuskupan Keningau, proses merangka program ini mengambil masa selama hampir setahun dan ramai orang peseorangan yang telah membantu dari segi idea dan nasihat. Ucapan terimakasih yang tidak terhingga buat Yang Mulia Bapa Uskup Cornelius Piong, dan kepada semua paderi yang menyokong penuh program ini. Juga tidak lupa kepada penasihat rohani belia keuskupan Rev. Fr Rudolf, penasihat program Rev. Fr. Dr Charles yang juga merupakan tenaga pengajar, di samping tenaga pengajar yang lain iaitu Fr. Gilbert Lasius, Fr. Boniface Kimsin, Sr. Patrcia Limun, FSIC, En. Andrew Charles dan Cik. Christine Kinsik, juga pada semua yang terlibat dalam program ini dan kepada semua peserta yang sanggup memberikan masa selama 10 hari bagi program ini, tanpa mereka program ini tidak akan berjaya, tambah beliau lagi.

Memetik kata-kata Bapa Uskup Cornelius Piong, “Bersatu, Bersama dan Melayani dengan Yesus”. Sdra Wilfred selaku kordinator program ini mengharapkan agar semua peserta terus setia dan mengingati pesan Bapa Uskup untuk menyedari walau di manapun mereka berada dan dalam apapun jua bentuk pelayanan dan kerjaya yang mereka ceburi, jadikan kerjaya mereka sebuah pelayanan yang tetap Bersatu, Bersama dan Melayani dengan Yesus. Selamat Melayani pada semua!!!

Coming Together

Coming Together

165 of them, coming from 8 parishes and 2 Missions and spend their time together in three days and two nights for a renewal and faith formation. Some of them are new in the ministry or newly appointed as leaders or as a team members, and for some they have been there since long ago and had become the back bones of the ministry. Thanks to you all!!!

The theme for the recollection is taken from the Diocese of Keningau pastoral theme which is "Ekaristi Teras Keluarga Berbudaya Menyembah Tuhan, Membentuk Iman dan Bertanggungjawab Sosial" or "Eucharist the source of strength for family to live with culture of worshiping God, formation of faith and social responsibility. Through this recollection, the participants felt bless because they were given the chances to deepen their understanding on the pastoral theme, itself.

In first day, during the opening mass Fr. Rudolf Joannes in his homily talks about "The Good Shepherd" the main point of his homily was to focus on the source of Christian Leadership and to live out His spirituality, in order to serve better and to be a living witness of Christ in today’s world.

Second day, was a challenging and tiring day and of course a blessing. Talking about spiritual and spirituality in her sharing Sr. Olga James, FSIC show how these two terms are differ in it's meaning. Through the sharing and her explanation, the participants are now able to differentiate the two terms and how important Christian Spirituality to daily lives is. She said many of our youth today does not know what spirituality is, and the inability to live it out and understand the christian spirituality slowly driven them away from the church and this also why many accused Catholic as a mere Christian, that we only good in numbers but weak in testimony and as witness to Christian faith.

Apart from that, all participants also had the chance to work in small group through three major topics that they've discussed during the day, the topic includes" The issues and challenges in doing ministry", Regional and local analysis" and Sign of God with us". According to some these three workshops is heavy, yet they are very grateful to have these workshop because through it they can know better their team and how to learn from each other without condemning other opinions or ideas. The awareness of the constant changing in the world arena is now also important for them to be able to understand what actually is going on in today’s world, and for them to be effective in doing their ministry.

At the end of the session, Mr. Wilfred James in his conclusion explained, the reason to start the recollection with "Good Shepherd", talked about spiritual and spirituality and end the session with "Sign of God with us" is simply because we want to know more, understand more about our Pastoral Theme and to know the reason why we are required to be responsible Christian. As the Eucharist is the source of strength, and the Eucharist is Jesus, we have to follow Jesus' way of life. By Eating His body and drink His blood, we now had become the “Broken Bread”. Being the "Broken Bread" we have to be Jesus to others or simply bring Jesus' personality come to life through us, that other people may see and proclaim that indeed God is still with us, and He is not cold God after all!!!
